Industrial Plant Platforms: Engineering Support for Heavy M&E Infrastructure

We recently completed the design of two bespoke steel plant platforms engineered to support heavy-duty Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) equipment.

For industrial and commercial facilities, plant platforms are critical infrastructure. They must be rigid enough to support vibrating machinery while being designed for safe, efficient installation in often restricted spaces. At Odysea Engineering Consultants Ltd, we provide a comprehensive design service that ensures your equipment is supported by a robust, compliant structure.

A Comprehensive Structural Engineering Package

This project required more than just "standard" steelwork. We delivered a full technical package to ensure the platforms were both high-performing and "fabrication-ready":

  • Steelwork Design (Eurocode 1993-1-1): Primary and secondary steel members were engineered to the latest Eurocode standards, ensuring safety and durability under significant static loads.

  • Precision Connection Design (Eurocode 1993-1-8): Every bolted joint was meticulously detailed to ensure structural integrity and ease of assembly on-site.

  • Foundation & Substructure Engineering: We sized the concrete pad foundations and detailed the baseplates, ensuring the load was safely transferred into the ground.

  • Lifting Assessment: To guarantee a safe installation process, we carried out a full lifting assessment for both platforms, allowing for secure handling by crane or plant during the build.
