We are pleased to share a recent fast-track mobilisation project completed by Odysea Engineering Consultants Ltd. Our team was tasked with the rapid design and detailing of bespoke seafastening brackets to secure critical mission equipment on a vessel operating in the Irish Sea.
In the offshore and marine industry, time is often the most expensive variable. Our goal was to provide a design that was not only structurally sound but could be fabricated and installed within a narrow port-call window.
Key Project Highlights:
Custom Vessel Engineering: The seafastening brackets were engineered to withstand the dynamic accelerations of the equipment during transit. We conducted a rigorous deck strength assessment to verify that the resulting pressures on the vessel’s deck were within safe operational limits while underway.
Optimised Fabrication & Procurement: Using efficient design practices, we ensured the brackets utilised standard steel sections. This allowed for rapid procurement and manufacture by local fabricators, minimising downtime and ensuring the vessel met its sailing schedule.
Collaborative Operational Support: Working closely with the offshore operations team and the fabricator, we delivered a practical, robust solution. Our "fabrication-first" approach ensured that the brackets were easy to weld and inspect on-site.
